Marinated Cheese

Serve this interesting cheese appetizer alongside assorted meats and crackers. It’s a crowd pleaser, and the kids will love it too.

  • 1 envelope Italian salad dressing mix

  • ½ cup canola oil

  • ¼ cup white vinegar or apple cider vinegar

  • 2 tablespoons water

  • 2 teaspoons sugar

  • 2 eight-ounce blocks cream cheese (put in freezer to harden a bit)

  • 1 eight-ounce block Monterey Jack cheese

  • 1 eight-ounce block sharp cheddar cheese

  • Fresh parsley for garnish


Combine first 5 ingredients. Set aside.


Cut all blocks of cheese into ¼-inch strips. Cut each strip in half to form two squares.


In a large dish, assemble like dominoes. Pour marinade over cheese. Cover, and refrigerate overnight. Drain, and arrange on a platter in rows. Garnish with parsley.
